It's that time of year again. New York is packing down its runways and clearing out its most stunning venues, and everyone is relocating temporarily to London. From Thursday 18th September to Monday 22nd September, thousands of people will take part in the restless routine known as fashion week - either walking in, producing, watching, photographing or reporting about shows. Anyone involved in the fashion industry in the next month or so bids farewell to sleep, substantial meals, normal mealtimes and having any kind of energy, and depends upon coffee, coca cola, blister plasters and beautiful clothes to retain any kind of functionality and to keep morale high. This is where The British Fashion Council and an ever changing line up of health and wellbeing brands to create a sanctuary - or a pit stop - for those involved in the shows. Weathered by the day to day runnings of the week - from castings and fittings to shows and late-night after parties - models can visit The Model Zone to be thoroughly spoilt and taken care of, and to relax in a calm, comfortable environment, offering nutritious meals, restorative drinks, beauty treatments, music, television, talks and other activities. The British Fashion council runs The Model Zone as part of the Model Health Programme and to ensure the well-being of models is in check throughout London Fashion Week. The Model Zone is a private space dedicated to offering models a calm place and nourishing things to eat and drink in between shows.
This year I will be creating an exclusive Model Zone menu on Saturday 19th September only. I will be at the venue (find out where from your London Agencies) from 12pm-4pm, serving up gluten free vegetable and pistachio crackers with white bean houmous, an avocado, black bean and peach salad with honey and lemon dressing, raw chocolate quinoa snack biscuits and a few pots of Qnola, including SAVOURY Qnola - the newest addition to our range which is not yet available anywhere else. I'll also be giving out Nutrition Manuals which I designed for my London Agency - IMG Models - earlier this summer. You'll be able to get your hands on some Qnola from Thursday - Saturday, and Alpro will be there sampling their dairy free coconut and almond yoghurts too. Pop in to relax, reset and restore. Regain some energy, put your tired feet up and pamper your worn out skin and hair with some natural and organic beauty products from Weleda, before getting back on the catwalk looking and feeling better than ever.
+ To find out the open times and full address of this seasons Model Zone, ask your agents and look out for posters backstage at fittings and shows. For more information about what will be on offer, visit http://www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/news_detail.aspx?ID=749.
